Religion

The Humanities and Fine Arts Department offers a variety of Religion courses that introduce students to the practices, historical development, and conceptual foundations of religions across the globe and in America.  There are also two courses focused on scholarly study of the Bible.  Religion courses provide students with a better understanding of religion as part of the human experience and deeper knowledge of particular religions.

REL 211, REL 212, and REL 221 can be used to satisfy the Critical Thinking component of the Additional General Education Courses requirement for the A.A. and A.S. degrees.

REL 110, REL 111, and REL 112 can be used to satisfy the Global Awareness and Foreign Languages component of the Additional General Education Courses requirement for the A.A. and A.S. degrees.

In addition any Religion course can be used toward elective credit.  Visit the CFCC catalog for more information about where philosophy courses fit in the curriculum: AA, AS, and AFA degrees at CFCC (See pp. 62-78 of the catalog)

Religion courses at Cape Fear Community College are an excellent start toward a major or minor in Religion at UNCW or other 4-year colleges and universities.
