Congratulation to Andrew Wishon!

Congratulations to CFCC Honors Program student Andrew Wishon for winning a prestigious scholarship from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. The scholarship was awarded in June 2016, and Andrew is now a student at UNC Chapel Hill.  Andrew is the first CFCC student to win this scholarship.

Room Change for Honors Club Meeting


The Honors Club will be holding its first meeting of the new academic year this Thursday (Sept. 1) at 1:00 pm in U526.  New officers will be elected at this meeting.

Over 50 Students Now Enrolled in CFCC Honors Program


The CFCC Honors Program has over 50 students enrolled heading into its fifth semester.

The orientation for new honors students will be held August 17, 11:00-1:00 in U405.

Summer Update! July 11, 2016


The CFCC Honors Program is going strong. It started in Fall 2014 with 16 students. At the end of the Spring 2016 semester, the program had 35 students, and 18 of them graduated. After a busy period of processing applications, the program now has 37 students enrolled with more to come as the on-campus orientation sessions begin for incoming students.

2016 Honors Program Banquet for Graduates


Tonight, May 3, the accomplishments of the CFCC Honors Program graduates were celebrated with a banquet. Fourteen Honors Program students are graduating this spring.  They will be attending the following universities in the fall:

UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Wilmington, Campbell University, Appalachian State University, and UNC Charlotte.

Calendars for Sale! Proceeds Benefit the Honors Program

Jahns Chavez, CFCC Honors Program student, has created an 18-month 2016 – 2017 calendar using all original photography. The calendars are awesome. They are available for $12 each, and all proceeds go to to the Honors Program.  To purchase, contact any CFCC honors student or drop by S312-B, the office of Myssie Mathis, faculty coordinator of the CFCC Honors Program.
