Optional Benefits (Wellington Benefits) Open Enrollment

Full-time employees:
Open enrollment for your optional benefits will be held from October 20-31, 2014. During this time, each full-time employee will meet individually with a representative from Wellington Benefits in order to choose optional benefits for 2015. Changes made during your appointment will take effect January 1, 2015.
Each department will receive sign-up sheets in order to allow employees to sign up for a time slot. Wellington Benefits representatives will be available at both the downtown and north campuses.

Some notable information:
  • Dental and vision insurance premiums received no rate increase for 2015.
  • Companion Life has cancelled its life insurance contract with CFCC effective December 31, 2014. Reliance Standard insurance company has agreed to take on our current policyholders under the same terms and rates as Companion Life.
  • Another new term life insurance option is being offered that comes with a long-term care rider. If interested, ask your representative for more details during your meeting. A minimum of 10 employees must sign up for this policy in order for us to accept the contract.

State Health Plan Open Enrollment

Open enrollment for the State Health Plan begins October 1 and will end October 31, 2014.
If you want to keep your current plan, you will not need to make a new selection.
HOWEVER, if you have the Enhanced 80/20 Plan or the CDHP and want to continue to receive a reduced premium for 2015, you must take action during open enrollment in order to renew your premium discounts. If you do not take action, you will remain on your current plan but lose your discounts and pay the increased premium cost for the entire 2015 plan year.
To renew premium credits, change your plan, or add or drop dependents, log on to:
Retrieve your username and password if you don’t remember it. This is NOT the same username and password as you use for other programs at CFCC. Typically, yourusername is your full first name, first initial of your last name and last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.
I have created a cheat sheet to walk you through the process of updating premium credits.

The State Health Plan is launching a contest for any employee who updates his/her contact information in eEnroll between May 12 and June 27, 2014.
In order to update yours, complete the following steps:
2) Log in, or click on “Can’t access your account?” if you don’t remember your information.
3) Click on Enroll Now.
4) Click on the Profile tab or icon.
5) Review your information, make changes if applicable, and hit Save.
Once you have saved the information (even if you did not make any changes) you will be entered into the contest.
All participants have a chance to win a NCHealthSmart Wellness Kit, including a $20 VISA gift card, t-shirt, pedometer, water bottle and pen. Participants from the employing units with the highest percentage of participation will also be entered into a drawing to win an iPad (first place) or FitBit (second place).

State Health Plan: Retirement Health Plan Information Session

Thinking about retirement? Let us help you navigate through your State Health Plan options. You’re invited to attend a State Health Plan informational session on how to maximize your health plan options in retirement.

To get the most from your retirement health plan options, timing is everything. Did you know that Plan members should submit retirement paperwork 120 days before their retirement date to ensure the most options available through the Plan? In addition, it’s recommended that members who are considering retirement meet with their HBR up to six months before their planned retirement date.

There’s a lot to consider before you embark on your well-earned retirement journey. To help with your planning, the Plan is holding a series of free informational sessions statewide from May through July. Please note: These sessions are designed for people who are turning 65 in the next year and not for members who are already 65.

CFCC is hosting one of these sessions. It will be held on Tuesday, July 29 at 4:00 pm in the Union Station Auditorium (Room U-170).
