Pierce Group

Cape Fear Community College offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits program. The products described in this booklet are optional, employee-paid benefits, and eligible employees have the opportunity to select the programs in which they wish to participate.

In order to enroll, you must be within 30 calendar days of your hire date or must enroll during the open enrollment period, held in October of each year with a January 1 effective date.

Employees have the option to purchase additional policies through Pierce Group Benefits, an insurance broker who handles a comprehensive package of benefits unique to Cape Fear Community College. The booklet lists all of the current optional benefits available including Dental, Vision, FSA, Group Term Life and Ancillary Benefits.

To make changes to your optional benefits outside of Open Enrollment, employees must do so within 30 calendar days of a qualifying life event as established by the IRS. Examples of qualifying events include birth, marriage, divorce, loss or gain of other coverage and death.
