CFCC Feminist Alliance is pleased to announce a community forum on the success and the legacy of the Stop Titan Action Network.  Yuna Shin, German Instructor, is the faculty advisor for the CFCC Feminist Alliance.

The forum is on April 18, from 6-8 pm in the Union Station Auditorium (U170).

When Titan America announced that it would build a cement plant in Castle Hayne on Cape Fear river in 2007, citizens of Wilmington and New Hanover County, NC, mobilized like never before to stop the corporate giant.

Stop Titan movement was born and ordinary citizens from all walks of life together with environmental groups fought an 8-year long battle against the global company. Titan finally withdrew is application for a building permit in 2016, proving that citizens banded together for a common cause can indeed keep polluting industries away.

Featured speakers include: Kayne Darrell, Founder of Stop Titan; Kemp Burdette, River Keeper, Cape Fear River Watch; Harper Peterson, former Mayor of Wilmington; Anna Lee, Director, Working Films.
