CAD for INTERIOR DESIGN

 

I.       COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course introduces basic computer-aided design, drafting skills, and techniques within interior design applications. Emphasis is placed on the most common computer commands used in architectural drafting and design to draw, edit, manipulate layers, and create reusable drawings.

 

II.         COURSE OBJECTIVE

Upon completion, students should be able to use specific computer applications to complete and plot/print drawings.

 

III. COURSE CONTENT

    1. To acquire a basic understanding of what auto cad is and how to use its tools.
    2. How to open drawing files.
    3. How to set up a drawing by defining limits, units, layers and text.
    4. How to draw simple shapes used in architectural drawings.
    5. How to copy, move, rotate, and dimension drawings.
    6. How to create blocks for furniture.
    7. How to plot/ print your drawing.
