There are two methods available for transferring files from your office to the classroom computer, NetDrive or FTP (file transfer protocol). Documents can be run directly from Windows Explorer using NetDrive (faster and easier). If you choose to use FTP, the files will have to be downloaded to MyDocuments and run from the D-drive.
- NetDrive:
Double-click on the NetDrive icon on the desktop. Enter your Novell login ID under Username and enter. You will be prompted for your password. Enter your password, click on OK, and an explorer-type window will be opened accessing both your u-drive and shared drive. - FTP from a browser:
Open Netscape and in the address bar type ftp://username@ftp.cfcc.edu. Put your Novell login ID, i.e., jsmith, in place of username. You will be prompted for your Novell password. All the files in your u-drive will be listed shared drive files will not be displayed. Right-click and copy they to the MyDocuments folder.
Note There are sometimes problems using Internet Explorer, so use Firefox.
