Interlibrary Loan
If the CFCC Library does not own the book or journal article you need, we will request the item (Interlibrary Loan) from another library. First check the CFCC Online Catalog for books and periodicals owned by our library. Articles from periodicals that are not available at CFCC may be available electronically. Please ask a Reference Librarian regarding this option before submitting an ILL request for a journal article. For journal articles not available, you will need to fill out a Journal ILL Request Form.
You may find books listed in our online catalog that are not owned by CFCC Library. These books are owned by one of the other libraries in our consortium and you may request the item directly via the computer (you will need your Library Barcode number). Allow at least 7-10 days for receipt of the book. If the book title does not display in our online catalog at any of the library locations, you will need to fill out a Book ILL Request Form.
Please include as much information as possible on the form (Title, Author, ISBN, name of journal, issue and volume number, etc.) to facilitate the processing of your request.
If we request books or articles from another library outside of our consortium, it takes a minimum of 7-14 days to receive the requested item. Once an item is received, you will be notified by telephone or email. The lending library sets the length of time materials may be kept (generally two to four weeks) and whether or not the item can be renewed. Therefore, it is very important to be prompt in picking up and using all ILL materials.
Videos and other audiovisual materials are not available from other libraries through interlibrary loan. ILL request forms are also available at the Reference and Circulation desks.
