Position:Surveyor/Navigator
As a member of the survey team, the surveyor is responsible for all aspects of the implementation, calibration and operation of positioning equipment and software. This includes the analysis and manipulation of the associated data to ensure the completeness and correctness of the data as it pertains to the survey project.
Responsibilities:
Install, calibrate and operate positioning equipment and related software (Hypack,Qinsy,CARIS)
Responsible for geodetic parameter setup and quality assurance.
Create the survey line files to ensure the survey vessel is operating to specification
Responsible for logging, processing, reporting and archiving positioning-related data.
Actively support the party chief and direct the positioning of the survey vessel.
Requirements:
A degree or diploma in geomatics/geodetic engineering or related field.
Offshore survey experience.
Willingness to work offshore up to 160 days per year
Strong communication skills.
Passport required or ability to obtain one, travel overseas as necessary
Pass physical exam
Valid driver’s license
Particulars:
Position is based in Stuart, Florida
Sea time is determined by project requirements, it is not a set scheduled rotation
Work responsibilities are both at sea and in the office
Compensation includes health insurance, retirement contribution, earned time off for days at sea, vacation, holidays, starting salary at $42k/yr plus sea pay $100/day
Successful candidate living outside of Florida will be eligible for relocation allowance.
