Position:Senior Marine Electronics Technician
In our start-up environment, the senior electronics technician has the supervision and control of all marine survey tools (excluding positioning equipment) and is responsible for technical support at sea and in the workshop. The offshore requirement is up to 5 months per year, schedules are determined by project requirements. The balance of time is spent in an office/workshop environment. The project locations include the US, Caribbean and South America.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Electronics Technician has responsibilities both onshore and offshore. Onshore responsibilities include warehouse oversight, ensuring equipment readiness and an ability to conceive and implement a mobilization plan for the survey vessel. The offshore responsibilities include the installation, maintenance and operation of the electronic survey equipment with guidance from the party chief or operations manager.
Design, coordinate and implement a complete mobilization plan for the survey vessel and upon completion of the project, implement demobilization of the vessel with guidance from the operations or project manager.
Ensure that sufficient spares, consumables and manuals are onboard to support operational efficiency.
A thorough understanding of survey tool electronics and troubleshooting capability to support in-field equipment repairs.
Participate in the calibration and operation of the survey equipment during the course of the survey, as directed by the Party Chief.
Responsibility for equipment fault logs and follow through on repair.
Liaison with management to assist with technical aspects of tendering and survey planning.
Involvement and coordination of new product testing and evaluation.
Compliance with all company QA and HSE procedures and practices.
Requirements:
Minimum Diploma Level in Electronics Engineering. Military candidates with 5 years of electronics experience in a marine related application considered. Combined equivalent Education & Experience considered.
Offshore experience of 2 years or more.
Demonstrated leadership skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills
US Passport required or ability to obtain one, travel overseas as necessary
Pass physical exam
Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record
US citizen or permanent residence status
Particulars:
Position is based in Stuart, Florida
Sea time is determined by project requirements, it is not a set scheduled rotation
Work responsibilities are both at sea and in the office
Compensation includes health insurance, retirement contribution, earned time off for days at sea, vacation, holidays, salary commensurate w/experience plus sea pay $100/day
Successful candidate living outside of Florida will be eligible for a relocation allowance.
