National Endowment for the Arts Big Read Kick Off Event

UNCW’s Office of the Arts will launch its National Endowment for the Arts Big Read: Cape Fear program exploring Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi with a kick-off event on November 10 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at NHCPL’s Main Library (downtown).

Light refreshments will be served from 5:00 – 5:30 PM followed by a brief introduction to library resources and a book discussion of chosen Big Read title, Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. Participants will then be led in an in-depth workshop to explore African American genealogy with independent scholar, lecturer, and author, Tim Pinnick. Register for the NEA Big Read kick-off .
