In order to help students help themselves, and to empower students with the information and resources they need for academic success, Online Learning recommends providing students with the follow Help Resources:
- Technical Help
- Academic Support Services
- Student Support Services
- Disability Services
- Publisher Technical Support (ex: MyLabs), when applicable
It is important that students can access up-to-date information easily from within the Blackboard course site, but also offline in case Blackboard isn’t accessible. In addition to providing Help information on the Course Syllabus, a separate ‘Help’ section should be created as a Content Area on the Blackboard Course Menu. (Example Course Menu showing a Help Section.)
To aid instructors in providing students with the myriad of resources available, and to help ensure accurate and up to date information, Online Learning has developed a webpage that instructors can provide to their students.
