The Public Information Office (PIO) is responsible for managing the overall marketing efforts for Cape Fear Community College. Services include promotional advertising, college branding initiatives, media relations, publications, promotional photography and general promotional efforts in order to promote college programs and services to the public. The Public Information Office also supervises the Printing Services Department of the college, which designs, prints and photocopies various printed material for college staff and faculty.
The Public Information Office is responsible for developing and monitoring web content in coordination with the college webmaster and web designer. The PIO monitors and updates the college's official Facebook page, Twitter feed and YouTube channel.
The Public Information Office is part of the Institutional Effectiveness Division.
News Media: The Public Information Officer is the official point of contact for all news media outlets. All interviews between CFCC students and employees must be pre-approved by the Public Information Office. The PIO must also be notified before news media will be allowed on campus. Employees and students are encouraged to contact the PIO with any newsworthy activity, event or accomplishment in order to inform the news media and the general public.
General Publicity Requests:
To request a press release, myCFCC announcement, electronic bulletin board message, or paid advertisement on behalf of your department, please submit a publicity request form at least three weeks before your event.
Scholarship Publicity Requests:
To publicize a scholarship opportunity, please submit a scholarship publicity request form.
Official College Graphics and Standards:
College web pages, publications, brochures, signs and promotional materials must adhere to college standards. If you would like to suggest a design that strays from the established guidelines, the design must be approved by Printing Services before it is produced. All college logos are trademarked and may not be used by unauthorized personnel without written permission from the PIO. To download a copy of an official CFCC logo for college use, please visit the CFCC Graphics page. College employees only. Others may use college graphics with special permission from the Public Information Office.
