Job Description: Interns will prepare oyster setting tanks for oyster larvae by helping to clean tanks, fill baskets with old oyster shells, monitor and sample water as oysters are setting, remove newly settled oyster larvae out of tanks into a staging area. Interns will deploy seeded oysters shells onto sanctuaries. Act as a mate on a 25 to 26' vessel to deploy and recover drifters through the Pamlico Sound. During oyster sanctuary sampling act as a deck hand assisting divers and sample recovery aboard the vessel as well as a data recorder.
Qualifications: Candidates must be able to lift 50 to 50 lbs repeatedly. Able to contend with cold and heat. Be in a science related major and some experience with data collection.
