Marine Acquisition
CGGVeritas has the industry’s largest fleet of 20

to suit client requirements. Due to our overwhelming growth,
we have several rewarding opportunities for Navigators to work in our various global offshore locations.
Description: The central role of the position of the Navigator
is recording quality navigation data, the operation of ALL
navigation
acquisition systems, sub-systems, and the technical training
and mentoring of Trainee Navigators onboard the assigned
vessel.
Additional Responsibilites:§ Responsible
for the recording quality of navigation data onboard the
vessel. § In
charge of the accurate setup and operation of ALL navigation
acquisition systems and sub-systems onboard the assigned
vessel. § Ensure that all components of navigation acquisition
operations run efficiently and effectively to minimize down
time.§ Perform installation and maintenance of the above
systems and their associated cables and antennas located
on the masts, catwalks and on in-water floats. § Perform
proper layout of seismic recording equipment and ensure proper
connections have been made to recording equipment.
Requirments: Working knowledge of UNIX
is preferred but not required. GPS – Navigation experience
a plus. Associates degree or above in Hydrographic Surveying,
Geodesy, Geomatics,
Geodetic Engineering, Marine Science, Marine Technology
or Electronic Engineering, a plus. You must possess a willingness
and ability to travel and work offshore for extended periods
of time (current rotation is six weeks offshore / six weeks
leave). Team player with strong interpersonal communication
and organizational skills. Proficient computer skills.

Position Requirements: A valid passport, submit
to and pass a drug screening, UKOOA medical (physical),
Basic Offshore
Safety Induction and Emergency Training Certificate (sea-survival
training) before starting employment.
