Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the following position: Research Specialist in the Center for Marine and Wetland Studies to work with the BERM (Beach Erosion Research and Monitoring) program.

This position is responsible for conducting high resolution bathymetric and geophysical surveys, data acquisition and processing, data archive and compilation. RTK-GPS surveys of beach and nearshore regions throughout the state of South Carolina with additional multi-beam, side scan, and sub-bottom profiling opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:
M.S. in oceanography, geology, coastal engineering or related field is preferred (CFCC Marine Tech. students are strongly encouraged to apply). Experience with operating and maintaining marine electronics (single and multibeam sonar, side scan, chirp and acoustic current meters) and associated software (e.g. HYPACK, SonarPro, ARCGIS), demonstrated skills handling operating small boats, field vehicles and rigging/deploying marine electronics required. This position is a full time, annual appointment position with benefits that is contingent upon funding availability.
