The Quality Enhancement Plan

CFCC’s new QEP will focus on developing a structured first-year experience (FYE) program to improve student success. The objectives of the QEP will include improving fall-to-spring retention, fall-to-fall retention, success rates in high enrollment and gateway courses, and degree completion rates. The QEP will also increase student engagement by encouraging students to develop a sound academic plan, complete their core English and math courses early, develop meaningful relationships with faculty and support staff, and participate in extracurricular learning opportunities.

This fall, the QEP Development Team, which consists of a broadly-representative group of CFCC employees from a variety of instructional and service areas, will begin drafting the QEP document. An executive summary of the QEP will be submitted, along with the college’s compliance certification, to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges, next March; the final draft of the plan will be submitted in July. Throughout this process, the QEP Development Team will be asking for your input. For more information about CFCC’s next QEP, please contact Jason Chaffin at 362-7275 or
