Like many students, Maria Mayorga wasn’t sure what she wanted to do after high school and enrolled at Cape Fear Community College as a college transfer student. Outside of class, she earned a spot as a CFCC Student Ambassador which really influenced her decision to major in public relations. After two years at CFCC, Maria was accepted into the journalism school at UNC Chapel Hill and majored in public relations. While at UNC she interned for several different marketing and public relations firms. Right before graduation she was hired at a marketing and website design agency in Raleigh, N.C. and was promoted to associate marketing director for the agency.
“Cape Fear was a great experience for me and I really believe that I wouldn’t be where I am today without it!”
