For 19 years, Wilmington resident Melanie Drish was a busy stay-at-home mother of five. As her children got older, she wanted to get back into the workforce and enrolled in the Cape Fear Community College Chemical Technology program. Melanie said that while returning to school was intimidating at first, she started slowly by taking just one class at a time.
“The more I got used to it, the less intimidating it seemed.”
Today, she is enrolled full-time and is two semesters away from completing her associate in applied science degree with her sights set on a new career.
