Placement in Music Courses: An Advising Guide
The following illustrates the appropriate placement of students who wish to register for music courses at CFCC. The courses that have been underlined may be used as the general education core courses or as electives. The courses not underlined may be used as electives only. Adhere to the standards of your program. Observe all footnotes.

1 Music courses with a letter applied as a suffix to the course number, such as MUS 152P, indicate specific instruments. P=piano, B=low brass, W=woodwind, etc. If a student plays an instrument other than those offered in applied music and class music, the student can still register for an ensemble.
2 Prerequisite for this course is the level-one course for this subject. Ex. Prerequisite for MUS 152 Class Music II is MUS 151 Class Music I.
3 Student must own and play an instrument to register for this course.
