The Wall, The Dark Side of the Moon and more!

Brit Floyd, the world’s greatest Pink Floyd tribute show, returns to the Wilson Center stage in 2019 with its most ambitious and best production yet – a very special 40th Anniversary retrospective of Pink Floyd’s iconic rock opera, ‘The Wall.’ Originally released in November 1979, a semi-autobiographical concept album from the mind of Pink Floyd founding member Roger Waters, The Wall remains one of the biggest selling albums of all time, and an important moment in rock music history. As well as performing a host of musical highlights from The Wall, Brit Floyd will perform classic gems and fan favorites from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Division Bell, plus lots more.

Much more than a tribute! Brit Floyd really is as good as they say – believe the hype and don’t miss it!

Gipsy Kings

Saturday, September 7 – 7:30pm

Tickets for this performance range $48.50 – $91.50 + fees and sales tax

The Gipsy Kings are largely responsible for bringing the joyful sounds of progressive pop-oriented flamenco to the world. The band started out in Arles, a village in southern France, as a Gypsy band traveling about playing weddings, festivals, and in the streets. Because they lived so much like Gypsies, the band adopted the name the Gipsy Kings. Though they had devoted fans, they had yet to gain wider recognition until 1986 when they hooked up with visionary producer Claude Martinez, who could see that the Kings had the makings of a world-class band.

In 1989, the Kings’ debut album spent 40 weeks on the U.S. charts and went gold, becoming one of the few Spanish albums to do so. The Kings have had an active release schedule ever since, including the albums Mosaique (1989), Live! (1992), Love & Liberte (1994), Tierra Gitana (1996), Cantos de Amor (1998), Somos Gitanos (2001), and Roots (2004). After extended touring, the Kings released a new studio album, Pasajero, in 2007, followed later that year by Live in Los Angeles. The Gipsy Kings celebrated its 25th anniversary with the release of Savor Flamenco in 2013. In addition to releasing several greatest hits and compilation albums, the Kings have continued to tour and dazzle audiences worldwide.

We Will Rock You

Saturday, November 2 – 2pm & 7:30pm

Tickets for this performance range $35 – $84 + fees and sales tax

WE WILL ROCK YOU is a quirky, eccentric and heartfelt story of outsiders. It is also a creative cautionary tale for the cyberage.

With the Oscar-winning film, Bohemian Rhapsody, the music of Queen is more popular than ever. WE WILL ROCK YOU follows two revolutionaries, Galileo and Scaramouche, on a quest to save rock n’ roll in a post-apocalyptic world where there are no musical instruments and rock n’ roll has died. The pair joins a small group of societal outcasts, the Bohemians, as they fight to take back the iPlanet from the all-powerful Globalsoft, led by the Killer Queen. They will fight for freedom, individuality and the rebirth of rock n’ roll.

Since 2002 over 16 million theatregoers in 19 countries have been thrilled by this awe-inspiring production which is based on the songs of Queen with a book by Ben Elton (The Young Ones, Blackadder, Popcorn). Elton fashioned this futuristic story around more than 24 of Queen’s biggest hit songs including: We Are the Champions, Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, Somebody To Love, Killer Queen, Don’t Stop Me Now, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust and, of course, We Will Rock You.

WE WILL ROCK YOU reflects the scale and spectacle that marked Queen’s live performances and earned the band its pinnacle position in rock history. With Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor as music supervisors and “a band without parallel in the theatre” behind the cast, the audience can expect WE WILL ROCK YOU to rock as fiercely as the best of Queen’s concerts.

“A concert is not a live rendition of our album. It’s a theatrical event.” – Freddie Mercury
