Become familiar with the different formats you may choose and when it\u2019s appropriate to use them.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Keep information targeted and professional<\/li>\n<li>Remember quality over quantity<\/li>\n<li>Make sure it\u2019s error-free<\/li>\n<li>Use a clean, easy to read format<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t mention money<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t include picture(s) of yourself<\/li>\n<li>Be sure it translates electronically \u2013 save as .pdf file<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Depending on your work experience, use one of the following formats:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chronological Resumes:<\/strong>\u00a0A\u00a0chronological resume\u00a0is perhaps the simplest\u00a0resume\u00a0to write and is often the format that is most preferred by employers. It is a fact-based\u00a0resume\u00a0that allows employers to quickly skim through and get a feel for your\u00a0<em><strong>work experience<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and qualifications.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Functional Resumes:\u00a0<\/strong>A functional resume\u00a0<em><strong>focuses on the\u00a0skills\u00a0and experiences<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0that make you a strong candidate for a position. Unlike a traditional resume, the functional resume does not highlight your chronological\u00a0work history.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hybrid Resumes:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>The\u00a0hybrid resume\u00a0is a format that allows those interested in job transition or career change to leverage their valuable work experience by highlighting key accomplishments from their entire career early in the\u00a0resume\u00a0format. A\u00a0hybrid resume\u00a0is a modern\u00a0<em><strong>cross between a chronological\u00a0resume\u00a0and a functional\u00a0resume.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Targeted Resume:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>A\u00a0targeted resume\u00a0focuses on a specific job opening.
