Cape Fear Community College offers a variety of software training options.

Computers for Beginners
This course provides basic knowledge of computers for students who are not familiar with hardware/software technology. Students will learn terminology, software fundamentals, email, MS Word and how to effectively use the internet. Computers are provided.

Intro to MS Office
This course provides an overview of Microsoft Office software using Word, Excel, Powerpoint, internet and email. Students should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of computer applications to enroll in this course. The skills taught in this four week course are valuable in the workplace.

Intro to Excel
This course provides basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Students will learn to create and edit worksheets, use formulas and basic functions, and sort and filter data for presentation or publication. Students should be familiar with MS Windows and have access to Excel 2010-2016.

Introduction to Computer Programming – Hybrid in the classroom and online
Learn the basics of computer programming, logic concepts and problem solving methods. Design desktop applications in Visual Basic using Visual Studio. Hybrid portion includes 3 hours outside of class using our online learning management system, Blackboard. Wednesdays face-to-face Wilmington Campus 6-9pm; online assignments to be completed by instructor’s due dates.
