Cape Fear Community College offers a variety of software training options.

Computers for Beginners
This course provides basic knowledge of computers for students who are not familiar with hardware/software technology. Students will learn terminology, software fundamentals, email, MS Word and how to effectively use the internet. Computers are provided.

Intro to MS Office
This course provides an overview of Microsoft Office software using Word, Excel, Powerpoint, internet and email. Students should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of computer applications to enroll in this course. The skills taught in this four week course are valuable in the workplace.

Intro to Excel
This course provides basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Students will learn to create and edit worksheets, use formulas and basic functions, and sort and filter data for presentation or publication. Students should be familiar with MS Windows and have access to Excel 2010-2016.

CISCO Cybersecurity Essentials – Hybrid meeting in the classroom and online
Gain basic, foundational knowledge of security in the cyber world, including: information security, systems security, network security, mobile security, physical security, ethics and laws. Builds on skills in networking, defense and mitigation techniques.
Prerequisite: Intro to Networking or networking experience.

Blockchain Cryptocurrency
This course provides an overview of understanding how the integration of blockchain technology will have long term positive impacts on business and business models. The correlation of this liberation technology coupled with the relationship with cryptocurrency creates an entire new ecosystem of new emerging technologies. Students will learn the basis behind blockchain and learn how to understand cryptography and how it is used in real world scenarios.
