We are pleased to provide this critical training locally and hope it this training will expand career opportunities for those who enroll.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We are excited to partner with Novant Health on this endeavor, this course is one of a kind,\u201d said Alan Brook, Director of Emergency Medical Services within CFCC\u2019s Economic and Workforce Development division. \u201cThe information from this course provide paramedics the skills needed to be more effective members of the patients health care team in the outpatient setting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Through the Community Paramedicine course, students will train to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help individuals overcome barriers to accessing and benefiting from health services.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as advocates, facilitators, liaisons, and resource coordinators.<\/li>\n<li>Provide appropriate care for emergencies, evaluation, triage, chronic disease management, and mental healthcare, as well as prevention.<\/li>\n<li>Mentor and empower residents, communities, and health care systems to achieve positive outcomes and reach optimal wellness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Upon course completion, students will be able to validate their competency through the Community Paramedic Certification exam.<\/p>\n<p>To enroll in this course, you must have a valid State or National Registry Paramedic certification.<\/p>\n<p>Interested individuals should visit the program\u2019s website for more information and <a href=\"https:\/\/cfcc-register.fundfive.com\/course\/section\/3940\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> register for the course <\/a> .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"> <a class=\"button px-5\" href=\"\/public-safety\/emergency-medical-services\/\" a href=\u201d_blank\u201d> <span class=\"text-highlight\">Learn<\/span> More <\/a> \n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WILMINGTON, NC \u2014\u00a0Cape Fear Community College, in partnership\u00a0with Novant Health, is pleased to launch a new Community Paramedicine course beginning on June 12, 2022.
