Mr. Mayew is a native of Kenosha, Wisconsin. He began his secondary education at Vernon Regional Junior College in Vernon, Texas. He continued to graduate from UNCW with multiple undergraduate degrees and an MBA from the university’s Cameron School of Business. Mr. Mayew began his professional career with the UNCW Athletic Department, becoming Assistant Athletic Director before relocating to New York City to accept a position at Morgan Stanley. Currently, he is Vice President of the FICC Trading Division.

Mr. Mayew’s philanthropic focus is on animal welfare. He actively supports Adopt-an-Angel, Canines for Service, Monty’s Home, and the CFCC Veterinary Technology program by establishing the James and Stephanie Mayew Vet Tech Endowed Scholarship. Additionally, he and his wife, Stephanie, are involved in ACCESS of Wilmington, Glow Academy, and UNCW Athletics.
