Mrs. Zimmer’s family is most important to her. She is the wife of a busy CEO and the mother of three grown daughters. Her eldest daughter, who lives in New York, works for the family business and is the mother of Mrs. Zimmer’s first grandson. Her middle daughter recently graduated with her MBA from Wharton. She also works in the family business and resides in Wilmington. Mrs. Zimmer’s youngest daughter graduated from college and lives on the west coast. Mrs. Zimmer enjoys being a grandmother, playing tennis and mahjong with friends, and she is working hard at improving her game of golf. She also loves to cook and travel.

Her community is very important to Mrs. Zimmer. She has served in leadership positions, over many years, on various boards in Wilmington. She was the President of the Parent Association at Cape Fear Academy during many of the years her daughters attended there. Mrs. Zimmer served for three terms on the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation Board, and she was an active member of the JDRF Gala Committee.

Currently, Mrs. Zimmer is involved with the Women’s Impact Network of New Hanover County and serves on the Beacon Education Foundation Board, the Foundation that supports GLOW Academy and Spark Academy. In addition, it is Mrs. Zimmer’s honor to serve on the Cape Fear Community College Foundation Board.
