Academic performance, extracurricular activities, and community service were all considered in the selection process.<\/p>\n<p>The 2019 Merit Scholar recipients are Kristen Alicia Peacock, E. A. Laney High School; Fausto Chirinos, Eugene Ashley High School; Aubrey Benjamin Hutsell, E. A. Laney High School; Matthew Logan Francisco, Hoggard High School; Lucas Davis, Topsail High School; Annalise Litterio, Wilmington Christian Academy; Isaac Bear Early College; Tatum Marie Beck, New Hanover High School<\/p>\n<p>Each student received $1,300 toward their first semester at CFCC, and will receive an additional $1,300 for the spring semester if they maintain a 3.5 GPA while completing 12 credit hours this fall.<\/p>\n<p>The Merit Scholars will also benefit from support provided by the CFCC Foundation throughout the academic year.<\/p>\n<p>The CFCC Foundation\u2019s merit scholarships are awarded each year.
