{"id":1345,"date":"2025-04-11T09:26:15","date_gmt":"2025-04-11T13:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cfcc.edu\/human-resources\/?page_id=1345"},"modified":"2025-04-11T09:28:36","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T13:28:36","slug":"ffga","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cfcc.edu\/human-resources\/current-employees\/benefits\/ffga\/","title":{"rendered":"FFGA Optional Insurance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cape Fear Community College offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits program. <a href=\"https:\/\/ffbenefits.ffga.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2220\/2024\/09\/2025-CFCC-Benefits-Guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> The products described in this booklet <\/a> are optional, employee-paid benefits, and eligible employees have the opportunity to select the programs in which they wish to participate.<\/p>\n<p><em>In order to enroll, you must be within 30 calendar days of your hire date or must enroll during the open enrollment period, held in October of each year with a January 1 effective date.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Employees can purchase additional policies through FFGA Benefits, an insurance broker that handles a comprehensive package of benefits unique to Cape Fear Community College. <a href=\"https:\/\/ffbenefits.ffga.com\/cfcc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Visit the FFGA website to view all of the current optional benefits available including Dental, Vision, FSA, Group Term Life and Ancillary Benefits. <\/a> \n<p>To make changes to your optional benefits outside of Open Enrollment, employees must do so within\u00a030 calendar days of a qualifying life event as established by the IRS. This plan will issue a debit card for access to your funds. These funds may be used to pay for IRS eligible health, dental and vision expenses, and some limited over-the-counter items. A full list, including plan details and a link to the FSA Store, is located in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ffbenefits.ffga.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2220\/2024\/09\/2025-CFCC-Benefits-Guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Benefits Booklet <\/a> .<\/p>\n<p>You may be required to substantiate your expenses, so it is important to save all detailed receipts for your purchases. Visit the Ameriflex website to file claims, upload receipts, view your account balance, find eligible items, and view helpful resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dependent Care FSA<\/strong><br \/>\nEligible full-time employees may allocate up to $2,500 for married filing separately and up to $5,000 for single or married filing jointly in 2024 on a pre-tax basis from their paychecks and place it into a dependent day care flexible spending account. These funds may be used on eligible dependent care expenses, however, no debit card is provided for this program.
