Sign Language for Healthcare Professionals
The ability to effectively communicate with patients who are deaf, or hearing impaired, is essential when working in the healthcare field. Learning Sign Language will help providers meet the healthcare needs of this patient population.
This course will provide healthcare professionals and social service providers with an understanding and sensitivity to individuals who are deaf or hearing impaired. Upon completing this course, students will be able to exchange short and basic phrases in American Sign Language relative to healthcare.
This course will provide students with a basic understanding and sensitivity to individuals who are deaf. The goal of this course is for students to be able to exchange short and basic phrases in America Sign Language.
This course is a continuation of the Sign Language for Healthcare Professionals I. It will provide students with more extensive training in using Sign Language to communicate with patients, family members and colleagues who are deaf or have a significant hearing impairment.
