Phlebotomists are healthcare professionals who draw blood samples from patients or donors. They often handle and process blood for lab tests, transfusions, research or donations. They are a vital member of the clinical lab team who performs clinical, technical, and clerical functions. Upon completion of this class, students will be prepared to take the ASCP or NHA certification exam and work in physician offices, blood donation clinics, diagnostic labs, insurance companies, or as a traveling phlebotomist. <\/p>\n

In addition to tuition and fees, students will spend approximately another $610 for the following: background check, drug test, physical examination, immunizations, online document tracker, books, uniforms, CPR, and ASCP Exam (national exam).<\/p>\n

CFCC\u2019s Phlebotomy program is approved by The National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).<\/p>\n

Course Technical & Physical Requirements <\/a> <\/h4>
To be successful in this course, students must be able to:<\/strong><\/p>\n
    \n
  • Students will learn the essential abilities needed to safely and effectively perform blood collection procedures in clinical settings.<\/li>\n
  • These include critical thinking skills to assess patients, manage time, and respond to emergencies, as well as strong communication and interpersonal abilities to interact professionally with patients and healthcare teams.<\/li>\n
  • Physical requirements such as mobility, motor skills, and sensory abilities (hearing, vision, and touch) are necessary to handle equipment, locate veins, and observe patient responses.<\/li>\n
