Since the first cohort of the CFCC MLT program graduated in 2024, three-year data will be available beginning in 2026.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Employment Outlook<\/h4>\n<p>Graduates may find employment in hospitals, clinics, physicians\u2019 offices, medical laboratories, government agencies, and industry. Graduates from the Cape Fear Community College Medical Laboratory Technology program may be eligible to sit for the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification Exam (ASCP-BOC).<\/p>\n<p>A career as a Medical Laboratory Technician continues to grow in the job market. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/ooh\/healthcare\/clinical-laboratory-technologists-and-technicians.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> average national salary <\/a> for a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Technician is $29.22 per hour. Salary will vary by practice setting and location.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Selective Admission Process<\/h4>\n<p>The TEAS test is a minimum requirement to apply for this program. Potential applicants are encouraged to <a href=\"https:\/\/cfcc.edu\/admissions\/health-sciences-enrollment\/request-information\/\"> complete this form <\/a> if they are not sure whether they are meeting eligibility requirements or have questions about the test.
