Can I be a judge?
If you love the arts, then please consider being a judge! You DO NOT have to be qualified in any of the categories. We are simply looking for a few people who have adequate reading knowledge and can rate a piece of work based on quality and interpretation.
If you are interested in judging, please give us your name, department/office information and an office phone number. Then list whether you prefer to judge fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, or visual arts. Send an email with this information to email@example.com . If you are selected as a judge, you will be informed when to expect the package of entries in your category.
How are the entries judged?
The judging process is simple. You will receive a package of copied entries in the category you select (art will be available on the Shared Drive). When you are finished rating the entries (instructions will be included), return them to us by the deadline and we will take it from there.
How are the winners chosen?
All of the entries and scores are collected from the judges and the scores are tallied. Top ranking entries are chosen for publication and entries with the highest total score may win prizes in their category. In April, we will announce the winners and newly published authors and artists in an acknowledgment ceremony where we recognize everyone who helps make Portals a success.
We thank you and look forward to working with you on the next edition of CFCC Portals Magazine.
