Examples of non-credit learning experiences include Continuing Education classes and programs, military education and training, industry-recognized certifications, and certain apprenticeship programs. <\/div>  <\/div> <p class=\"iwi-target-container17\"> <a href=\"#\"> Credit by Proficiency <\/a>  <div id=\"container17\" class=\"\">  <div class=\"bg-light p-4\"> Students may request credit by proficiency examination for previous experience or training for selected courses. The student must be enrolled at CFCC and not have enrolled in the course before taking the proficiency exam. The student must request the Credit by Proficiency Application from the Registrar and have it approved by the department chair to challenge the course. Students may challenge a course only once. Students successfully passing a proficiency exam will receive credit for the course as a \u201cCR\u201d (credit for record). Credit by Proficiency does not usually transfer. Please check the <a href=\"https:\/\/cfcc.edu\/academic-resources\/academic-calendar\/\"> Academic Calendar <\/a> for exact dates and times. Ceremonies are held in the <a href=\"https:\/\/wilsoncentertickets.com\/\"> Wilson Center <\/a> .<\/p>\n<p>Orders for caps, gowns, and class rings will be accepted by a company representative during announced dates through the College Bookstore. Students will be provided with a limited number of commencement tickets.<\/p>\n<p>Students do not receive their official diplomas at commencement. Once all final grades are in, a check of each student\u2019s program evaluation is done to confirm graduation. Degrees are posted to the official transcript within one week of Commencement. Diplomas will be mailed approximately 6 weeks after graduation to the student\u2019s address on file.<\/p>\n<h4>Intent to Graduate<\/h4>\n<p>Candidates for graduation must complete an Intent to Graduate form.<\/p>\n<p>The Intent to Graduate form should be submitted when you and your advisor feel that you are within 1 to 2 semesters of completing your program course requirements. Be sure to select and include every program from which you expect to receive a degree, diploma, or certificate at the time you are completing the form. A confirmation email will be sent to your CFCC email account upon successful completion and receipt of this Intent in our office. Shortly following, an evaluation response of your Intent to Graduation will be mailed to your CFCC email account explaining your status and listing any course needs.<!--A separate intent form must be completed for each degree, diploma, or certificate you are completing. A confirmation email will be sent to your CFCC email account within 2 business days of receipt of this intent in our office. An evaluation of your Intent to Graduation will be mailed to you within 1-2 weeks explaining your status and listing any course needs.-->\n<p>Upon graduation, students&#8217; eligibility for financial aid and veteran\u2019s benefits will end. If you plan to continue in another program after graduation, please contact <a href=\"https:\/\/cfcc.edu\/financial-aid\/\"> Financial Aid <\/a> and the <a href=\"\/advising\/\"> Academic Advising Center <\/a> .<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Priority Date to File Intent to Graduate:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style:none;padding-bottom:8px;\"><strong>Spring 2026<\/strong> \u2013 File your Intent by February 6, 2026.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style:none;padding-bottom:8px;\"><strong>Summer 2026<\/strong> \u2013 File your Intent by June 5, 2026.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style:none;padding-bottom:8px;\"><strong>Fall 2026<\/strong> \u2013 File your Intent by October 30, 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The college encourages as many students as possible to participate in the ceremonies; however, Intents to Graduate received after the priority date to file may be added to a waitlist and are not guaranteed to participate in the ceremonies due to spacing limitations, planning, and preparations that need to occur ahead of time. Do not click the web browser\u2019s \u2018Back\u2019 button, or you will have to start over from the beginning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Program Evaluation (Degree Audit)<\/h4>\n<p>Students have access to their Program Evaluation through <a href=\"https:\/\/my.cfcc.edu\/\"> the student portal <\/a> (select the &#8220;Self Service&#8221; app and then &#8220;Student Planning&#8221;). The Program Evaluation tracks a student&#8217;s progress towards graduation based on the student\u2019s catalog of record. The Program Evaluation allows students, advisors, and counselors to follow progress towards completion of a degree, diploma or certificate. Students can also use the system for \u201cwhat if\u201d scenarios when considering changing majors. Check with your university regarding the program and be sure to \u201copt-in\u201d or check with a counselor for additional instructions regarding how to opt-in.<\/li>\n<li>Because the Reverse Transfer program has different requirements, in order for these to apply, you must first opt in at the university.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Am I eligible?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You must have completed\/earned at least 25 percent of credit hours at CFCC.<\/li>\n<li>Your associate degree then depends on the credits earned at the university; each student\u2019s credits will be evaluated to see if the combined credits meet the degree and graduation requirements.<\/li>\n<li>The universities will send data to us twice a year (approximately February and July). We will evaluate your earned credits to ensure you have reached a total number of credits toward earning the associate\u2019s degree.
