{"id":11,"date":"2019-07-24T12:47:52","date_gmt":"2019-07-24T16:47:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cfcc.edu\/disability-support-services\/?page_id=11"},"modified":"2025-05-07T09:38:17","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T13:38:17","slug":"our-services","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cfcc.edu\/student-accessibility-services\/our-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Student Accessibility Services office is charged with reviewing disability documentation and approving accommodations based on that documentation.<\/p>\n<p>Student Accessibility Services offers a range of services and accommodations to eligible students, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Academic accommodations, such as extended test-taking time and note-taking support<\/li>\n<li>Accessible course materials, including textbooks in alternative formats<\/li>\n<li>Assistive technology resources and training<\/li>\n<li>Individualized counseling and support<\/li>\n<li>Liaison services with faculty and staff to ensure accommodations are implemented effectively<\/li>\n<li>ASL interpreters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Coordination of Services<\/h4>\n<p>Students must register with Student Accessibility Services in order to receive academic accommodations. Students can register at any time in the semester and at any point in their academic journey at CFCC. However, accommodations are not retroactive so students are encouraged to register prior to classes starting.<\/p>\n<p>Services that are approved are discussed at length with students and assistance is provided in coordinating those services.<\/p>\n<h4>Student Advocacy<\/h4>\n<p>Unlike high school, students are expected to self-advocate. The SAS office is always available to assist.
