What is on the placement test? <\/a> <\/h6>
The parts of the test consist of an English Test with 2 levels \u00a0and a Math test with 3 levels. \u00a0Each level must be passed with a score of 75 before proceeding to the next level.<\/p>\n

English Tier 1 covers:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Introduction to College Reading & Writing; Identifying Main Ideas; Discovering Implied Meaning; Interpreting Bias; Analysis through Definition; Learning Across Disciplines.<\/p>\n

English Tier 2 covers:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Exploring Comparative Elements; Informed Opinions through Causal Chains; Applied Critical Analysis; Using Sources in Critical Reading & Writing.<\/p>\n

Math Tier 1 covers:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whole Numbers; Fractions & Mixed Numbers; Decimals; Ratios, Rates, & Proportions; Percents; Measurement; Geometry; Real Numbers.<\/p>\n

Math Tier 2 covers:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Concepts in Statistics; Solving Equations & Inequalities; Exponents & Polynomials; Graphing.<\/p>\n

Math Tier 3 covers:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Factoring; Systems of Equations & Inequalities; Rational Expressions; Radical Expressions & Quadratic Equations; Functions<\/p>\n

How can I study\/prepare for the test? <\/a> <\/h6>

Do I need to make an appointment to take the placement test? <\/a> <\/h6>
Yes, please a schedule a time <\/a> to take the placement test. <\/div>
Is there a fee to take the placement test? <\/a> <\/h6>
No. There is no charge to take the placement test. <\/div>
What do I need to bring to the testing room? <\/a> <\/h6>
You need to bring a photo ID <\/strong>(such as a driver license), and you must know your 7-digit CFCC student ID number.<\/strong> CFCC Student Services requires you to have an application on file in the Admissions Office before testing. <\/div>
How long will the test take? <\/a> <\/h6>
The length of time for testing depends on how many parts of the test you need.<\/p>\n

Each level of the English Test takes about 1 hour to complete.<\/p>\n

It will take about 1.5-2 hours to complete the Math Test.\n<\/p> <\/div>

When will I receive the results of the placement test? <\/a> <\/h6>
Score results are generated as soon as you finish testing. <\/div>
Do my placement test scores really matter? <\/a> <\/h6>
Most definitely! Your scores determine whether you are proficient in English and math. If you are proficient in these areas, you can register for the first level English\/math for your course\/program. If you are not proficient, you must take the developmental course(s) listed on your advising report. <\/div>
Can I take placement test more than once? <\/a> <\/h6>
Applicants\/students can take the placement test only twice – one initial test and one retest<\/strong>. <\/div>
If I have a disability, can I make special arrangements? <\/a> <\/h6>
If you are a student with a documented disability in need of accommodations during your placement test, please contact Student Accessibility Services <\/a> prior to scheduling. Student Accessibility Services is located in Union Station\u2013218 or can be reached at 910-362-7017 <\/a> . <\/div>
Do I need to keep my advising report? <\/a> <\/h6>
Yes.
