The Nixon Leaders Center Focus

Student Life at The Nixon Leaders Center is dedicated to supporting the educational and professional aspirations of students enrolled at Cape Fear Community College (CFCC). The program focuses on increasing completion of developmental coursework, student retention, transfer readiness, and graduation rates by expanding access to mentorship, financial literacy programs, lunch and learn events, educational and professional development opportunities, civic engagement, networking, and meaningful student involvement.

As the hub for Student Life and Engagement, the Nixon Leaders Center helps fuel students’ vision for success through co-curricular learning and campus involvement. Student Life and Engagement oversees the Student Government Association, more than 40 student clubs and organizations, and a variety of large-scale programs and events; including Welcome Week, Fall Fest, Spring Fling, and the annual Student Awards Ceremony, designed to foster leadership development, campus community, and academic engagement. Together, these efforts enhance the overall student experience while providing guidance, support, and opportunities for students to actively shape their college journey.

To accomplish this, the program increases exposure to:

  • Mentorship
  • Educational opportunities
  • Professionalism
  • Civic opportunities
  • Networking
  • Fuel their vision for accomplishing goals.
