Quarterly Budget and Expenditure Reporting for HEERF
Practices to Monitor and Suppress COVID-19
Cape Fear Community College has implemented the following practices to monitor and suppress COVID-19:

  • Inform employees of their health insurance benefits that cover COVID testing 100%
  • Encourage employees and students to get vaccinated
  • Sponsored a vaccination test site on campus
  • Provide masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and other Personal Protective Equipment to students, faculty, staff, and guests
  • Support clean and sanitary campus environments, including hand sanitizer stations placed through the campuses
  • Regular cleaning and disinfection of all facilities
  • Implement physical distancing guidelines with signage and tape
  • Paid time off for employees to get vaccinated
  • Sick leave for employees out due to COVID
  • Provide academic support services and mental health services for all students affected by COVID
  • Support coping and resilience for students
  • Purchase additional instructional supplies to allow students to work in smaller group sizes
  • Various Indoor Air Quality projects including: Replacement of out of date Building Automation System “Continuum” with the newer package “Ecostruxure”; replacement of the outdoor air, return and exhaust damper actuators in the L building with electric equipment; replacement of chiller in L building; sealant replacement in L & S buildings which will prevent moisture from entering the building and causing mold and mildew; replace the split system in the BA building which will allow larger filter capacity and more outside air/ventilation; replace 2 roof top units in the T building which will be more efficient and offer more ventilation for better air quality; upgrade the A building HVAC server; replace unit in NY building to allow for better efficiency and more ventilation for better air quality; replace HVAC system in the A building to allow for larger filter capacity, better efficiency and more ventilation for better air quality; replace HVAC system in the W building; replace chiller in NA building; replace chiller in NB building; renovate HVAC system in the S building to include new air handlers, DDC controls, chiller replacement, ductwork and control dampers.
