Why Your Gifts Are Important
Last year, thanks to your generous support, the Foundation raised over $1M and were able to award scholarships to 718 students across 65 different programs.
Scholarships make a huge difference in a student’s life, giving them the ability to remain focused on their education. Today’s estimated cost to attend Cape Fear Community College is approximately $4,000 for tuition, books, and fees for an entire year. Most of our students are working one or two jobs and juggling family responsibilities. They are facing mounting costs for living expenses including transportation and housing. There is often very little left to cover educational purposes. Without generous donors like you, many students will have to put their educational dreams on hold. We are asking you to consider making a gift today with immediate impact.
Meet Courtney, a business student, who said it best: “Your generosity has made a significant difference in my education and helped me get on my feet in the most desperate of times.”
Courtney is not one of those students who has always had everything paid for. She is a single mom who had to work a lot harder to accomplish her education after high school. During Hurricane Florence last September, not only did the entire community suffer hardship, but her mom passed away from a sudden illness, making it very hard for her to continue in school. She turned to the Cape Fear Community College Foundation who awarded her a scholarship to help her graduate.
“Without the help of donors like you, there would have been no way to accomplish what I did. It is humbling just knowing that there are people out there that care enough to help students like me,” says Courtney.
Scholarships are a vote of confidence that motivate our students to keep going despite whatever obstacles may stand in their way.
Please join us in support of CFCC’s talented students by investing in their future.
