The Institutional Effectiveness and Planning Office (IEP) provides leadership and direction for college-wide planning and assessment activities for continuous improvement, accreditation compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, internal auditing of FTE reports and institutional research and reporting.
The IEP Office provides training on planning and assessment, administers institutional surveys for assessment purposes, monitors reporting for data quality, produces reports to inform the college community of the state of the college, coordinates the program review process, monitors key performance indicators to ensure effectiveness, provides institutional research support to all departments and conducts internal audits of Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) records.
The executive director of institutional effectiveness and planning serves as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Commission on Colleges accreditation liaison for the college. The institutional researcher is designated as the college’s data coordinator and the IPEDS key holder. The IEP staff have professional membership or affiliation with the following:
- CCPRO – Community College Planning and Research Organization is a network of planners and researchers from the 58 community colleges across the state of North Carolina. These professionals support each other and the work of their colleagues at their respective colleges.
- AIR – Association for Institutional Research is a professional organization for institutional researchers. AIR provides educational resources, best practices, and professional-development opportunities for its more than 4,000 members.
