The 3M Focus

The Minority Male Mentoring Program (3MP) is a effort that is focused on increasing collegiate minority male retention and graduation.

Our State Goal:

The North Carolina Community College Minority Male Mentoring Program is designed to support the educational and professional aspirations of minority males in the Community College System. The program seeks to increase the completion of developmental courses, retention, and graduation rates.

How Do We Plan To Do This?

To accomplish this, the program increases exposure to:

  • Mentorship
  • Educational opportunities
  • Professionalism
  • Civic opportunities
  • Networking
  • Fuel their vision for accomplishing goals.

So Who Is Considered a Minority Male?

“American Indian, Alaskan Native, Black (not of Hispanic origin), Hispanic (including persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, and Central or South American origin), Pacific Islander or other under-represented ethnic group.”
