Medical Sonography
Medical Sonography is a rapidly growing imaging specialty in the field of health care, using high frequency sound waves to produce images of internal body structures. Students are taught how to produce high quality images through in depth instruction. This includes classroom as well as hands-on experience in the lab and clinical settings.
Coursework includes introduction to sonography and patient care, sonographic physics, abdominal sonography, obstetrical/gynecological sonography and vascular sonography. With the proper use of equipment, the medical sonographer will produce high quality images for the physician to make a diagnosis.
