
Are you a firefighter who needs training, or are you interested in becoming a firefighter?
Our fire training division offers fire and rescue training classes at fire departments in New Hanover and Pender counties. Classes to provide NC Firefighter Certification (through the NC Fire & Rescue Commission), courses for re-certifications, and courses in the latest technology are offered locally on a regular basis.
The Firefighter Training Center located at the North Campus allows completion of most firefighter certification classes through computer interactive training.
Weekend Fire Colleges
The New Hanover Fire College is being held April 25-29, 2012. A total of 54 classes are being offered, including HazMat Level One Responder (36 hrs). and several new courses. Check out the brochure below.

The Safety Training Center has received a beautiful large display board. We are placing patches from various department who have trained at CFCC and would love to include yours in our Parade of Honor! Please bring a patch the next time you attend our classes and we will proudly display it.
First Responders Academy
The First Responders Academy began January 17. Students outside the academy may attend individual classes. However pre-registration is required due to class size limitations. Pre-registration can be sent to firetraining@cfcc.edu or calling Amy at 910-362-7770 or Joyce at 910-362-7714.
The Special Training Center at Cape Fear Community College is proud to announce a First Responders Academy. This program is a comprehensive 17 week program that will cover a large variety of courses that prepares a cadet for a career in fire fighting. More information is available at the links below.
