Kimberly Sherman

Dr. Kimberly Sherman is a historian, writer, and educator who received her PhD in Modern History from the University of St. Andrews in the UK. She teaches courses in American and Women’s history. Her teaching interests are in the social and cultural history of early American history and the Atlantic world. Dr. Sherman’s research interests include social history, transatlantic networks, the Caribbean, and early America. She has published her research in the North Carolina Historical Review, Atlantic Studies, Nursing Clio and more. Dr. Sherman researches and writes regularly on the history of early North Carolina and is currently working on her first book project — a history of Scottish families who immigrated to North Carolina in the eighteenth century.
