Financial Aid Assistance Nights

Cape Fear Community College makes it easy for students to complete the FAFSA by offering one-on-one in-person assistance with the application.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step toward getting money to pay for college. The FAFSA is required to qualify for federal student loans as well as federal, state, and college-specific scholarships and grants.
Join us in Union Station U-212 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on the following Wednesdays:

During FAFSA Nights, you can:
- Receive personalized assistance with admissions and financial aid steps.
- Work on your residency determination to ensure accurate tuition fees.
- Get hands-on help starting or submitting your FAFSA.
- Have your questions answered by knowledgeable representatives from CFCC’s financial aid and admissions offices.
- Utilize our computer lab for assistance in completing paperwork.
- Plan for the upcoming summer and fall semesters with expert guidance.
To make the most of your FAFSA Night experience, here’s what you should have prepared:
- Residency Determination: If you’re unsure whether you’ll qualify for in-state or out-of-state tuition, review the residency determination information provided. Having this sorted beforehand will streamline your process.
- FAFSA Account Creation: Prior to attending, it’s strongly recommended that both students and parents create individual accounts on studentaid.gov. This is crucial for accessing and submitting your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
