Biography

Alicia D. Montgomery graduated from the public schools of New Hanover County. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Work from Fayetteville State University and her Master of Science in Addiction Counseling at Grand Canyon University. Mrs. Montgomery is a Doctoral Candidate for a Ph.D. in Psychology with an emphasis in Cognition and Instruction at Grand Canyon University.

Mrs. Montgomery is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and serves as the Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program Coordinator at Coastal Horizons Center. She has provided mental health and substance abuse services via Outpatient Therapy, Intensive In-Home, Community Support Team, Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities, and Group Homes.

In the community, she is a member of The Lower Cape Fear Alumni Chapter of Fayetteville State University- National Alumni Association where she holds the office of Treasurer and is a member of the New Hanover Unit of the NAACP, where she holds the office of 3rd Vice President. Mrs. Montgomery is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. She is also a member of the Zeta Rho Zeta in Wilmington where she serves as the President. Mrs. Montgomery is a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she serves on The Pastor’s Aide.

Mrs. Montgomery is the wife of Deacon LeRon T. Montgomery and mother of Leah M. Jones.
