CFCC to host Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11

American Flag Wilmington, NC – Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) will host a Veterans Day Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024. The ceremony will be held in the courtyard behind Union Station on CFCC’s downtown campus (502 N. Front Street, Wilmington, NC). This event will honor the brave men and women who have served our nation.

The ceremony will include:

  • Presentation of Colors – Headquarters and Service Battalion Color Guard, U.S. Marine Corps
  • National Anthem – Benjamin Lacombe, United States Marine Corps
  • Invocation
  • Pledge of Allegiance – Elizabeth Steed, Military Spouse
  • Introductory Remarks – Jim Morton, CFCC President
  • “In Flanders Fields” – Phil Garwood, Lieutenant Commander of Royal Canadian Navy Veteran
  • Guest Speaker – Johnny Johnson, United States Air Force, Retired
  • Reading of “I am a Veteran” – Eman Mohammed, United States Army National Guard
  • Service Hymns – Mr. Bob Philpot, United States Coast Guard, Retired
  • Southeastern North Carolina Chapter of the Military Officers Association – Chrissy Sandford, Colonel, United States Army, Retired
  • Student Speaker – Marcus Abraham, Student Veteran Organization, United States Marine Corps and Army Veteran
  • TAPS
  • Benediction

Following the ceremony, all veterans are invited to a free lunch in the Bob Philpott Veterans Center, located on the first floor of CFCC’s Union Station (502 N. Front Street, Wilmington, NC).
