Biography

My name is Allyson Kanuha (like Canoe-HA), and I’ve made it all the way to North Carolina, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

After spending time in local TV news I’ve made the switch to academics where I get to share my love of communicating with the masses.

I have my B.A. in Communication with a Sports Journalism focus and my M.A. in Communication Research, where I completed my thesis about AR/VR use in sports journalism post-COVID.

When I’m not in the classroom, you can catch me with my dog and cat, Milo and Otis, who love the outdoors, or with my husband, reading a book at the beach.
