CFCC Expanding Landscaping and Horticulture Job Training Courses

Wilmington, NC (September 15, 2025) – Cape Fear Community College’s Economic and Workforce Development division is expanding its job training opportunities with the launch of new Landscaping and Horticulture courses. Designed to equip students with in-demand, hands-on skills, these courses are ideal for those seeking to start or advance careers in landscaping, gardening, and horticultural services.
All of these new courses seamlessly articulate into CFCC’s Landscape Gardening and Horticulture Science degree program, allowing students to continue their education toward an associate degree.
Each 16-week course is $190, providing an affordable entry point into a growing field. Students can choose from the following course offerings:
- Horticulture Pest Management: Prepares students to sit for the North Carolina Commercial Pesticide Ground Applicators License exam.
- Landscape Construction: Covers essential techniques for building and maintaining outdoor landscapes.
- Plant Materials: Introduces students to plant identification, selection, and care practices for successful landscape design.
