CFCC Launches New Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Technician Course

Wilmington, NC (September 23, 2025) – Cape Fear Community College is excited to announce the launch of a new Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Technician course, designed specifically for licensed electricians seeking to expand their skills and gain hands-on training in the rapidly growing electric vehicle charging industry. Running October 6 – 30, this evening course will be held Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., providing access for working professionals.
As electric vehicles continue to rise in popularity, the demand for skilled technicians to install, maintain, and troubleshoot EV charging stations has never been greater. This course equips electricians with the specialized knowledge and practical experience needed to excel in the installation, maintenance, and management of EV charging infrastructure. Participants will gain in-depth instruction and real-world training on topics such as EVSE and EV customer relations, EV battery characteristics and charging integrity, installation fundamentals and utility integration, installation and service-level assessments, networking and safety standards, and troubleshooting next-generation charging systems.
