CFCC to Host Spring 2026 Student Art Exhibition

Wilmington, NC (March 2, 2026) – Cape Fear Community College will showcase the creativity and talent of its students in the Spring 2026 Student Art Exhibition, on view March 9 through May 1, 2026, at the Wilma W. Daniels Gallery.
This annual exhibition highlights current CFCC students and celebrates the emerging voices within the Wilmington art community. Featuring work in a wide range of media, including ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography, drawing, painting, digital design, and more, the exhibition brings together pieces created at pivotal moments in each artist’s development.
The works range from the serious to the playful, and from the deeply personal to the broadly shared. Together, they reflect how student artists navigate curiosity and discovery while engaging with new artistic practices and perspectives. Whether studying within the Commercial, Fine, and Performing Arts Department or other areas of CFCC, each artist brings a distinct voice and approach to their creative practice.
Student artwork will be evaluated by category, with a Best in Show also selected. Madison Creech, Assistant Professor of Art and Art History, specializing in Graphic Design and Illustration, from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, will be the guest juror for this exhibition. As an educator and active member of Wilmington’s art community through her co-run art gallery, Fried Fruit Art Space , Creech lends an insightful and thoughtful perspective to the jurying process, as well as to the process of selecting the show’s best works for student awards.
A public reception for the exhibition will be held on Friday, March 27, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The Wilma W. Daniels Gallery is located at 200 Hanover Street in downtown Wilmington. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Admission is free. To learn more about the Wilma W. Daniels Gallery and its calendar of upcoming exhibitions, visit wilmadanielsgallery.com/ .
